The UltraCarb™ Candle is Doulton's best home water filter for a point-of-use water filter system.  A cleanable ceramic filter element designed to remove suspended solids, pathogenic bacteria, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, lead, bad odor / taste and chemicals.


UltraCarb 9 3/4 Inch Cartridge Water Filter Element


These filter elements are designed to reduce heavy metals, fluoride, color, Bromine, Pesticides, and chlorine/chloramine in drinking water. They are constructed with materials which are FDA approved. The particle size used to accommodate filtration reductions of the following contaminants is 8x30 mesh. Metals adsorbed: Lead, Aluminum, Cadmium, Copper, Zinc, Iron, Manganese, Silver, Arsenic, Nickel, Mercury, and Chromium. The rate of adsorbtion is determined by contact time between the incoming water and time in the cartridge.

The Ceramic

The Sterasyl grade ceramic was designed to remove suspended solids, turbidity, parasites and pathogenic bacteria, it is cleanable to provide a longer service life than non-ceramic filter elements. The ceramic utilizes the natural micro-porous properties of diatomaceous earth in the ceramic along with careful monitoring of the firing schedule, to provide strictly controlled filtration efficiency together with optimum pore distribution giving maximum flow.



MATRIKX® VOCTM is the most effective water filter available for the combined reduction of VOCs and control of large volumes and concentrations of chlorine taste and odor. Particulate filtration is used to intercept insoluble lead-containing particles. Standard 2.50” O.D. x 9.75” L filters will reduce lead, meeting the performance requirements of NSF/ANSI Standard 53 protocol for over 2,500 gallons when operating at a flow of 0.75 GPM. When other contaminants are being removed in addition lower capacity and flow rates may need to be considered to achieve desired reduction results.
